A toy appeal by the Lonely Orphans charity for children traumatised by the war in Gaza was featured on BBC Radio Berkshire’s afternoon programme last week.
Nazrul Islam from Lonely Orphans spoke to the programme presenter Bridgitte Tetteh about the charity’s toy appeal – called Gift for Gaza – now underway in Oxfordshire.
“We are a children’s charity working in Gaza, as well many other places across the world”, said Nazrul
“In the last couple of weeks our volunteers in Oxfordshire have been collecting toys for Gaza. These will be delivered to the children in Gaza, and will bring some hope to children traumatised by the war and who lost everything.
“The toys will help them be able to play again, and be a child again”
Mr Islam added that Lonely Orphans are looking for new or good used toys, which do not need to be expensive, like dolls, footballs, toy cars and toy figures”
To donate toys you can contact supportercare@lonelyorphans.org or post it to the head office at 93-101 Greenfield Road, London E1 1EJ.
Lonely Orphans charity (Registered Charity number 1171230) provides food, shelter, schooling care and support to vulnerable children – many who have lost a parent or both parents – in troubled parts of the world.
