The Prophet Muhammadﷺ used to sacrifice two rams: one for himself/family, and another on behalf of the Ummah who could not take part in this blessing.
In low-income and crisis-affected regions, millions of orphans and vulnerable children rarely or never consume proper protein due to cost and availability.

Qurbani is the sacred sacrifice offered during Eid al-Adha in remembrance of the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It is a powerful act of worship that also brings relief, nourishment and joy to orphans and families in need.
Lonely Orphans is not simply delivering Qurbani meat — we are reaching children who are already at the heart of our work: orphans, vulnerable children and families living through poverty, hunger, displacement and hardship.
By giving through Lonely Orphans, your Qurbani reaches those who are often most overlooked — bringing food, dignity and the joy of Eid to children who need it most.
Your Qurbani is intended for those most in need, including orphans, vulnerable children, widows and struggling families in impoverished and crisis-affected communities supported by Lonely Orphans.
Yes, where options are available, you can select from the locations listed on the campaign page. This allows you to direct your Qurbani towards the people and regions closest to your heart.
It is always best to give as early as possible so arrangements can be made in time for Eid al-Adha. Early giving helps ensure your Qurbani is planned and delivered smoothly to those in need.
Yes, you can offer Qurbani on behalf of yourself or another person, whether living or deceased. Many donors also give additional Qurbanis on behalf of loved ones.
Qurbani is an act of worship carried out during the days of Eid al-Adha, with specific Islamic requirements around the animal, timing and distribution. When you give Qurbani, you are fulfilling a religious obligation.
Meat Packs are different. They are a way to provide extra food support to vulnerable families, but they do not count as Qurbani. A £10 Meat Pack can help feed a small family, while a £25 Meat Pack can help feed a large family.
So, your Qurbani fulfils the sacrifice, while Meat Packs allow you to give additional food and care to families who need support beyond Eid.
Your donation goes towards the procurement, sacrifice and distribution of meat to eligible beneficiaries in line with the Qurbani programme. The aim is to ensure families who rarely have access to meat can benefit during Eid.
Revive A Forgotten Sunnah:
The Prophet Muhammadﷺ used to sacrifice two rams: one for himself/family, and another on behalf of the Ummah who could not take part in this blessing.
Through Lonely Orphans, your Qurbani helps carry that same spirit — reaching orphaned and vulnerable children, struggling families and communities who may otherwise be forgotten during Eid. It allows your sacrifice to become a source of food, mercy and joy for those most in need.
