Extend Your Compassion: Transform Lives of Orphans, Vulnerable Children and their Supporting Communities Across the Globe
In a world filled with challenges, we are called to act with compassion, kindness, and generosity. At Lonely Orphans, we are committed to supporting vulnerable children and orphans across the globe, ensuring they have access to the care, education, and opportunities they deserve.
Today, children face unimaginable hardships in many parts of the world. The ongoing crises have left countless children displaced and orphaned. From the Uyghurs seeking refuge in Türkiye to the Rohingya in Bangladesh, the Palestinians in Egypt, the Malayu in Thailand, and the struggling communities in Indonesia, the need for support is urgent and immense. While Gaza remains a significant focus, we extend our care to these other vulnerable communities who rely on us for survival and hope.

Frequently Asked Questions
In an era where information travels faster than ever, it’s crucial for us to ensure our community stays informed with accurate and timely information.
HOW IS AID PROVIDED IN GAZA?
Aid reaches Gaza via Rafah and other routes, in collaboration with local partners. Using operational foreign exchange companies, we efficiently transfer funds.
HOW DID YOU DELIVER AID THROUGH AIR CARGO?
A collaboration between the Malaysian and Egyptian Government and NGOs facilitated a direct aid delivery into Gaza, through the Rafah border. A more detailed news is available on our homepage.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THE AID HAS BEEN DELIVERED?
Our dedicated ground team captures delivery efforts on video, viewable through our social media video diaries. Please note: this is an extremely dangerous activity and we are cautious not to put our team in any further danger.
WHAT AID ARE YOU DELIVERING?
We are delivering essential supplies including hot meals, food parcels, baby milk, temporary shelters, and urgent medical supplies across Gaza.
WHY CHOOSE LONELY ORPHANS?
With a decade of experience, a vast network, and a focus on orphans and vulnerable children, our dedicated team is uniquely positioned to make a difference inside Gaza. This Ramadan we are remembering the children of Gaza with our Birds of Paradise campaign. #morethanjustanumber.
HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO GET AID INTO GAZA CONSIDERING THE BLOCKADE BY ISRAEL?
Through innovative solutions and trusted partnerships, we successfully navigate the blockade to deliver aid. We know the risks involved and are careful to use tried and tested routes through local expertise.
IS IT TRUE THAT MEDIA REPORTS OF AID SHORTAGES AND AID NOT ENTERING GAZA?
Despite challenges, our updates and video diaries confirm that aid is reaching those in need in Gaza. We are verifying everyday, and in touch with our team everyday. As the situation evolves, we too are dynamically changing our delivery activities.
WHAT METHODS DO YOU USE TO VERIFY?
We utilise a comprehensive feedback system, incorporating data from partners, ground staff, and beneficiary testimonials. We often post our delivery on our social media channels. Stay Connected to find out more.
HOW IS AID PROCURED IN GAZA?
Our team secures aid locally in Gaza, ensuring immediate impact despite higher costs and limited availability. Due to fluctuating prices and limited availability, the cost of purchasing aid within Gaza is notably higher compared to sourcing from Egypt or Malaysia. Despite the higher cost, this method remains the most impactful means of saving lives at present.
ARE YOU WORKING WITH OTHER NGOs TO GET AID IN?
Partnering with other NGOs amplifies our impact, demonstrating the power of unity in humanitarian efforts. Together, we are saving lives.
ARE YOU ZAKAT APPROVED?
Scholars confirm Lonely Orphans meets Zakat criteria, supporting the poor and needy with essential life needs. We also cover the four most important to life: No food, no clothing, no shelter and no security. Scholars have vetted that Lonely Orphans is a verified Zakat Charity.
Your Religious Duties: Empowering Children
Your Fidya and Kaffarah will go directly to where the need is most
If you miss a fast due to a necessity i.e. ill-health, pregnancy etc you will need to pay Fidya which covers two meals per person per day missed. If fasts are broken without valid reason and you cannot replace each missed fast with 60 days of fasts then you are obliged to pay Kaffarah.
Fidya
Fidya calculated at £5 is a donation to cover two meals per person per day for those unable to fast. So, £150 for missing all fasts in Ramadan.
Kaffarah
Kaffarah is paid to feed 60 poor people for one missed fast without a valid reason. We have calculated £5 per day for 60 people to be £300.
